On the word "cremains," lumpy timing, my mind's tendency to wander, and a couple of puppies currently raging through the front hallway with what may be a sock
That sounds like more than a handful. I found that frozen marrow bones were a good long-lasting puppy chew! Also, the bully sticks are cheapest at Costco. Good luck!
I commend you for taking on puppies....I definitely don't want to do that again...but I've got this affectionally called "bitchy red heeler" who only Loved Lucky and he died a few months ago. I truly thought I'd die with him, so I get it. My greatest fear in the dog loving world aspect is actually dying before them, leaving their care and a burden to my kids...I'd have a hundred if aforementioned "bitch" would let me...and now I have this cat that won't let me have another cat...
I liked the footnotes. When I was reading through this, I thought I read "jittermates" (Littermates after Jett). There was no such word. Minds do weird things. I love etymology and can't stop myself for certain phrases and idioms, "nit picking". The way those little bits weave their way into conversation. I'm always afraid I have used some offensive term.
Enjoy those sweet little puppies!
As a fellow Laputian I particularly love this blog Beth.
